The Ginger Pig at Moxon Street
Butchery and meat counter, cured meats, prepared dishes, butchery classes
Moxon Street was our first, proper shop in London, which came about because we found we struggled to find people to work at Borough Market. With only two days of trade each week, the Borough stall didn’t offer enough work to attract good butchers, and so Tim took the plunge, found a shop and opened a full time butcher shop in London allowing us to employ some exceptional butchers.
It was in Moxon Street that we started to make pies, terrines, pâtés and other prepared dishes, as well as our now-famous giant sausages rolls. Vida, Monika and Loretta make a daily-changing menu of big, homely, cooked take-home meals such as lasagne, cassoulet and gratin dauphinois along with cooked ham, beef, tongue and traditionally made corned beef. Manager-butcher Erika and her team Jason, Clarence and Adam are always on hand to get you the right cut, and help you with advice on how to cook it.
