The Ginger Pig at
Grange Farm, Levisham
"We use 300 acres of the farm to grow barley, wheat, oats and fodderbeat almost all of which goes to feed our animals. This means we have the all-important food chain completely covered"
The place where it all began. There are 280 acres of prime Yorkshire farmland up here, plus another 1800 of heather moorlands, owned by the North York Moors National Park, to which we have the grazing rights. This is home to both our 1500 strong flock of breeding ewes and to the all important production units where we begin the primary butchery of our own animals and dry cure our pork to make our own bacon. Sheep have been farmed on this land since Roman times and we continue that tradition to this day. It’s also where Tim Wilson lives; Tim is never far away from his animals.
